Notre Dame's 2011 Regular Season Finale

Notre Dame has a record of 8 and 3. Tonight the Irish go on the road to play the sixth ranked Stanford Cardinal. The Stanford quarterback is Andrew Luck, who will probably be the first player selected in next April's NFL draft. Notre Dame's QB is Tommie Rees, a sophomore to whom I would give a grade of "C." Rees is not a threat to run, and his arm strength is, at best, average. To make matters worse, we (i.e., Notre Dame) lost our best running back, Jonas Gray, to injury last week against Boston College. I can't imagine the Irish coming within two touchdowns tonight. Stanford has the better team, the game is in Palo Alto, and the Cardinal has more to play for. Even with a win, it's another ho-hum disappointing season on the gridiron for the Domers.
